The best SEO tools for agencies in 2026

By Advik Jain, Co-founder & CEO · 29 Sept 2026

An agency needs several logins, many client sites and reports it can put its own name on. We priced seven tools for three people, ten client sites and branded reports, and list them by what each costs for that setup, cheapest first, with Veritas, our product, priced by the same rule.

The short answer

Price the setup, not the plan. Extra users and branded reports decide an agency’s bill, and on published prices three tools cover three people, ten client sites and white-label reports for under $250 a month.

  • SE RankingFor local SEO, 10 projects and a white-label platform for $230 a month.$230/mo
  • SpyFuFor competitor and Google Ads research with unlimited exports, at the lowest cost.$179/mo
  • SemrushFor market-wide keyword and competitor data, when clients expect Semrush reports.$659/mo
  • Moz ProFor client reports built around Domain Authority, a widely recognised metric.$228/mo
  • VeritasOursFor writing content for a few clients, every knowledge-based claim cited to that client’s material.$16/mo

How to choose an SEO tool for an agency

An agency’s bill depends less on the plan price than on three multipliers: people, client sites and branded reports. With three logins, ten client domains and reports under the agency’s name, SpyFu comes to $179 a month, Moz Pro to $228, SE Ranking to $230 and Semrush to $659, even though their entry plans sit between $39 and $139.

Branded reports decide the most. SE Ranking’s Agency Pack costs $69 a month, paid yearly, for a white-label platform and reports. SpyFu puts your name on PDF reports once you reach Pro + AI, and Moz puts your logo on reports from Medium. Semrush charges $20 a month for each branded report, which grows with every client, and Ahrefs does not white-label at all.

Seats come next, because agencies grow by people. Extra users cost from $16 a month on SE Ranking, $15 to $30 on SpyFu, $49 on Moz, $40 to $80 on Ahrefs and $45 to $100 on Semrush by plan. SpyFu’s Team/Agency plan, at $249, includes five users and unlimited projects, which suits a growing roster.

Then match the data to the work you sell. Link audits and pitches favour Ahrefs, with 35 trillion live backlinks. Paid search clients favour SpyFu’s more than ten years of Google Ads history. Daily rank reporting points to SE Ranking or Semrush, since SpyFu, Moz, Ahrefs and Mangools update weekly on their entry plans.

Veritas, ours, fits a narrower job: writing client content from each client’s own documents with every knowledge-based claim cited. Each self-serve plan covers one SEO site, so ten client domains have no published price.

Before committing, test with real client data. SE Ranking gives a card-free trial of 14 days, Semrush a trial of 7 days, SpyFu a money-back guarantee within 30 days, and Ahrefs no trial at all.

All 7 tools at a glance

Each tool priced for three people, ten client websites and reports branded as yours, paying monthly: the cheapest published plan that covers it, plus any extra users or add-ons it needs, per month. Where no published plan covers it, the cell says why instead of guessing.

Once seats and branded reports are counted, SpyFu ($179), Moz Pro ($228) and SE Ranking ($230) all stay under $250 a month for the agency setup, while Semrush reaches $659.

Veritas drafts client content from each client’s own documents, with every knowledge-based claim cited, and tracks how AI answers describe them. Try it on one client domain.

The SEO toolkit, tool by tool

What each tool gives you for classic SEO, as its own pages describe it. A tick is included, a dashed circle is included with a limit the cell names, and a dash means the vendor’s pages do not describe it.

SE Ranking and Semrush update rankings daily at entry level; SpyFu, Moz Pro, Ahrefs and Mangools Basic report weekly, and Mangools describes no technical crawl for client audits.

AI answer tracking

Six of the seven describe AI answer tracking; SpyFu does not. SE Ranking’s Core plan already runs 100 daily prompts on five engines, Semrush begins on Starter at $199, Moz Pro checks 50 prompts once a week from its $99 Standard plan, Mangools bundles eight engines into every plan, and Ahrefs Lite allows 5 prompts. Veritas covers four engines fortnightly from its $78 Growth plan.

Five people sharing 100 prompts for one brand would pay, over a year, $1,692 on Mangools Agency, $2,316 on SE Ranking, $3,912 on Moz Pro and $7,428 on Semrush; neither Ahrefs nor Veritas sells a plan that reaches 100 prompts. For ten people tracking 300 prompts across three client brands, SE Ranking Core with its AI Search add-on and Moz Large with 100 extra prompts are the suites with a published plan that fits; with the others, an agency at that scale would negotiate a larger tier or add a dedicated tracker.

A tick is included. Add-on means an extra monthly fee. You choose means the plan lets you pick a limited number of platforms from this list. Unclear means the vendor’s wording does not say.

What AI answer tracking costs a year

These setups price one thing: tracking how AI assistants answer about you, for a given number of prompts and people, over twelve months. They are not the cost of the SEO toolkit, which is in the table above. Where no published plan fits, the note says why instead of guessing.

Bars share one scale across the whole table, so cost growth shows as well as rank. A figure far above the rest is marked off scale.

The plan, seats and add-ons behind every figure are worked through on each tool’s review: Moz Pro, SE Ranking, Semrush, Ahrefs and Veritas.

Each tool in brief

SpyFu

Best for competitor and Google Ads research for client pitches.

SpyFu homepage

SpyFu is the cheapest way to equip a small agency for pitches. Pro + AI, at $119 a month, brings unlimited searches and exports, more than ten years of Google Ads and organic history, ten tracking projects, white-labelled PDF reports and an API; adding a second and third person at $30 apiece makes it $179. Its ad history shows how a prospect’s competitors built and tested their paid campaigns.

What you give up: tracked rankings update weekly, its link data covers only pages ranking in Google’s top 100, and by SpyFu’s own account it cannot reliably set a local client against a local rival. Past ten clients, Team/Agency at $249 adds unlimited projects and five users.

Moz Pro

Best for client reporting built on Domain Authority.

Moz Pro homepage

Moz Pro suits agencies whose clients already ask about Domain Authority, since progress on a familiar number is easy to explain in a monthly report. Medium, at $179 a month, covers two users, ten campaigns and 1,500 tracked keywords, with custom reports that carry your logo and can be exported to PDF and scheduled. One more user at $49 brings three people to $228.

What you give up: rankings and site crawls update weekly, and every extra user costs $49 whatever the plan. Branding means your logo and templates on custom reports, and managing a local client’s listings means buying Moz Local, from $20 per location.

SE Ranking

Best for most agencies, on price, depth and white label together.

SE Ranking homepage

SE Ranking fits most agencies on the numbers. Core’s ten projects and 2,000 daily-tracked keywords match a ten-client roster, each added manager costs from $16, and the $69 Agency Pack adds a white-label platform and reports carrying your brand. Core already includes local SEO for three locations and 100 AI prompts checked every day.

What you give up: the Agency Pack is sold only on annual billing. Its 5.5 billion keywords trail the databases of Semrush, at over 27.3 billion, and Ahrefs, at 28.7 billion, which matters for pitches in large markets. Claude and Copilot are not among the AI engines it tracks.

Semrush

Best for agencies whose clients expect Semrush data.

Semrush homepage

Semrush is the choice when clients expect its data or the agency sells market-wide research. Pro+, at $299 a month, covers 15 sites, and one login also covers local visibility, digital PR and client-ready Marketing Reports, with more agency integrations and training than any rival here. Rankings update daily from the first plan.

What you give up: cost scales with the agency. Extra users are $80 a month on Pro+, and each branded client report is a $20 Pro Report add-on, so three people and ten clients reach $659 a month, close to three times SE Ranking’s figure. Listings work for local clients is a separate product, Semrush Local, at $30 to $60 per location.

VeritasOurs

Best for agencies that produce content for a few clients.

Veritas homepage

Veritas is ours, and for an agency it is a content tool first. Each workspace writes from one client’s own files and numbers every sourced claim, so the client can check where each fact came from before signing off a page. Growth, at $78 a month for three users, adds local SEO with Google Business Profile, listings, review replies and geo-grid rank tracking, plus AI answer tracking on four engines.

What you give up: each plan covers a single SEO site, with more sites priced on request, so there is no published figure for a ten-client roster. Reports from Growth are not described as white-label, Business stops at five users with no extra seats sold, and there is no API.

Ahrefs

Best for link research for client audits and pitches.

Ahrefs homepage

Ahrefs is the link researcher’s choice for client audits and pitches. Its index of 35 trillion live backlinks reaches back over a decade, Site Audit checks over 170 issues, and even the $129 Lite plan includes API and MCP access, which suits agencies that build their own dashboards. Lite’s five projects, plus any sites you verify, cover a small roster.

What you give up: Ahrefs does not offer white-label reports, by its own help centre’s account, so anything sent to a client shows the Ahrefs name unless it is rebuilt elsewhere. Rankings update weekly on every plan, there is no trial, and Lite allows only two extra users at $40 each.

Mangools

Best for watching many small client sites cheaply.

Mangools homepage

Mangools suits an agency watching many small client sites on a small budget. Every plan tracks unlimited domains, and the Agency plan, $141 a month, updates 1,500 keywords daily with five extra seats. SERPWatcher feeds Looker Studio and tracks map pack positions for local clients, and eight AI engines are watched as part of every bundle.

What you give up: those domains share one keyword allowance, 200 on Basic, and the plan and price behind its whitelabel reports are not stated. It describes no crawler for technical client audits, and looking up a competitor’s ranking keywords works in just 17 countries, which limits international client work.

What would change our verdict

  • A vendor publishing which plan includes white-label reports, or changing what they cost, since that decides the order here.
  • A change to extra seat prices on SE Ranking, Moz or SpyFu, which would reorder the three tools under $250.
  • Veritas publishing a price for extra SEO sites, which would give it a cost for this setup.

Questions people ask

Which SEO tools offer white-label reports?

On their own pages read 29 September 2026: SE Ranking through its Agency Pack at $69 a month billed yearly, SpyFu from Pro + AI, Moz with logo branding from Medium, and Semrush through Pro Reports at $20 a month each. Ahrefs and Ubersuggest say they do not offer white-label reports.

How much do SEO tools cost for an agency?

For three people, ten client sites and branded reports, $179 a month on SpyFu, $228 on Moz, $230 on SE Ranking and $659 on Semrush, paid monthly. The table above shows each sum and the plan behind it.

Can clients log in to the agency’s SEO tool?

SE Ranking’s Agency Pack adds a white-label platform and reports. On the others, a client login usually counts as a paid user, so check the extra seat price before offering access.

Does Veritas work for agencies?

For content work, yes: each workspace drafts from one client’s documents with citations. For many client sites at once, not on published prices, because every self-serve plan includes one SEO site and more are quoted case by case.

What we compared on5 questions that separate these tools
  • Cost for the setup. Three people, ten client sites and branded reports, priced from published plans with each extra user and add-on counted.
  • Client sites. How many projects, campaigns or domains a plan covers before the next plan up.
  • Seats. Users included, and what each extra login costs, because agencies grow by people.
  • Branded reports. Reports that carry the agency’s name rather than the vendor’s, and whether they cost extra per report.
  • Data depth. Keyword and backlink databases deep enough for client pitches and audits, not only rank tracking.
