The best AI visibility tools in 2026

By Advik Jain, Co-founder & CEO, Optivus Technologies · Published 11 September 2026 · Updated 15 September 2026

An AI visibility tool runs the questions your buyers ask through answer engines and records whether your brand is mentioned, cited or missing. We reviewed twelve from their own pages and list them in the order our published scoring rules put them, with Veritas, our product, scored by the same rules.

The short answer

No single tool wins. Decide first whether you only need to watch AI answers or also want help writing the pages that win them, then compare the engines included at the price you would pay.

  • FraseFor the cheapest year of tracking for one marketer, with drafting and publishing built in.$49/mo
  • Otterly.AIFor daily monitoring for a whole team at the lowest paid entry price.$29/mo
  • SE RankingFor a full SEO suite with 200 tracked prompts on one bill.$129/mo + $89

From is the cheapest published plan that tracks AI answers, with any add-on that tracking requires. Veritas bills in rupees, excluding GST; everything else is in US dollars as each vendor publishes it.

The one on this list that writes the fix

Veritas tracks five AI engines, then drafts each missing page from your own documents with every knowledge-based claim cited to its source. Try it on one domain.

Which AI engines each tool tracks

On the cheapest plan that tracks AI answers. Most vendors list more engines than that plan includes, so this is what you get at the price shown, not the brochure maximum.

What happens after a tool finds a gap

This decides more than the engine list does. A tracker tells you where you are missing; whether it also writes the fix decides how much work stays with your team.

What would change our verdict

  • Any vendor here publishing a figure we currently mark as not published, which would bring a dropped criterion back into its score.
  • A price change, a plan restructure or an acquisition, all of which have happened more than once in this category this year.
  • Hands-on testing by us across a full quarter, which would let us judge answer quality rather than published capability.

Questions people ask

What is the cheapest AI visibility tool?

On prices read 11 September 2026, AthenaHQ has a free Essential plan with 300 credits, and Otterly.AI’s paid plans start at $29 a month for 15 prompts. Cheapest is rarely the right test: check which engines the entry plan actually includes.

Which AI visibility tool tracks the most engines?

At enterprise tiers, Profound lists up to nine engines and Writesonic lists ten platforms. At a self-serve price, Scrunch includes seven engines on every plan, and AthenaHQ Starter covers 11 models.

How often should AI visibility be re-checked?

Often enough to see a trend, which is less often than it sounds. The same prompt returns a different answer on different runs, so one daily check says little on its own. Daily refresh helps during a launch or a crisis; weekly or fortnightly is enough for a content programme.

How far can I trust an AI visibility score?

Treat any single reading as noise. In SparkToro’s research across 2,961 prompts, the same list of brands came back less than one time in a hundred. A mention rate measured across many prompts over several weeks is the signal worth tracking, whichever tool you use.

Is Veritas an AI visibility tool?

It includes one. Veritas tracks five engines on Content + SEO Premium and up, but it is priced and built as a content and SEO platform. If tracking is the only job, a dedicated tracker on this list is the simpler buy.

Veritas

Our productCited content, SEO and AI visibility

Best for: Teams that want to track AI answers and write the cited pages that win them, in one workspace

Tracks ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews on Content + SEO Premium and up, re-checked every two weeks with on-demand checks. Each gap opens into an editor that drafts from your documents with a citation on every claim, beside keyword research, site audits and backlinks. No daily refresh, no Copilot or AI Mode, and no API.

Veritas is an AI content and SEO platform built by Optivus Technologies. It organises a company’s own documents into a knowledge graph and drafts marketing content from it, attaching a numbered citation to every knowledge-based claim that opens the passage it came from. Claims it cannot trace to your material are left out rather than filled in.

Around the editor it bundles keyword research and gap analysis, competitor and SERP analysis, a live content score, site audits, backlinks, Google Analytics with Search Console, and AI visibility tracking across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. Plans are priced per workspace in INR with users included.

What it does

  • Drafts from a knowledge graph of your documents, with a numbered citation on every knowledge-based claim that opens its source.source, 12 Sept 2026
  • A live 0 to 100 content score that updates as the draft is written.source, 12 Sept 2026

Brand Radar checks AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, AI Mode and Claude daily, and custom prompts come free in every paid plan. The allowance is a monthly check budget: Lite’s 150 checks cover its 5 prompts on one platform, so more platforms means fewer prompts. What we compared on5 questions that separate these tools
  • Engines at the price you would pay. Several tools list seven or more engines but include three or four on the entry plan. Each review quotes what each plan actually includes.
  • Prompts and refresh. How many questions are tracked and how often they are re-run. Daily refresh catches movement sooner; more prompts give a steadier mention rate.
  • Seats. Whether the people who act on the data can see it without a per-seat fee.
  • What happens after a gap. Some tools stop at the report. Others connect the finding to content, audits or outreach.
  • Trial terms. Whether you can evaluate on your own brand before paying, and whether a card is needed.

  • We found no security or trust page on SE Ranking’s site.
Frase
  • Frase does not say whether “Google AI” on its plans means AI Overviews, AI Mode or both.
  • Frase Starter includes one seat with no published price for more, so it is not costed for teams.
Writesonic
  • Writesonic does not publish prompt allowances, so it cannot be costed for a set number of prompts.
  • Writesonic does not publish how often it refreshes results.
Veritas
  • Veritas does not publish security certifications, so this page claims none. Ask us directly if your procurement needs them.

  • Semrush’s security page does not mention SOC 2.
  • Semrush sells a standalone AI Visibility Toolkit at $99 a month but does not publish how many prompts it tracks, so it is not in the yearly costs.

  • We found no public security or trust page for Scrunch.
  • Sitecore has not said whether Scrunch will keep being sold on its own after the acquisition.

Surfer
  • Surfer does not publish how many seats each plan includes.
  • Surfer’s AI Search Analytics plan names ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews “and other AI models” without listing the rest.
AthenaHQ
  • AthenaHQ bills in credits, one per AI response, so its plans cannot be costed for a set number of prompts.
  • AthenaHQ does not publish how often it refreshes results.
Peec AI
  • Peec AI’s prices appear only after its pricing page loads in a browser, so we could not record them and they are not compared here.
  • Peec AI’s funding figures come from press reports, not from Peec AI itself.
Profound
  • Profound does not publish how often it refreshes results.
  • Profound does not say which plans include its Agents, or how Agent use is billed.

How we researched this page

Every fact about a tool other than Veritas comes from that vendor’s own pricing page, product pages, documentation or announcements. Each one is linked where it appears, with the date we read it.

We build Veritas and use it every day. We have not run paid accounts of every other tool on this page, so we describe what each vendor publishes rather than scores from tests we did not run. Where a capability was not described on a vendor’s pages, the table says exactly that, which is not the same as saying the product lacks it.

G2, Capterra and TrustRadius blocked our automated reads, so any rating shown is the figure the vendor publishes about itself, labelled as such.

Prices and plans change. We re-read every vendor page at least every 90 days and record what changed in the update log below.

The scores and cost figures on this page are calculated, not assigned. Our full methodology sets out every rule, what each criterion is worth, and where our evidence runs out.

Disclosure. Veritas is our product. It appears on this page because it competes in this category, and we have tried to state its limits as plainly as anyone else’s. If anything here is wrong or out of date, write to support@getveritas.io and we will correct it and note the change in the log.

Update log

  1. 15 September 2026Corrected: Surfer’s standalone AI Search Analytics plan names three engines. Earlier versions counted five.
  2. 15 September 2026Narrowed: the $139 SEO plan shows no tracked-prompt allowance. Earlier versions said it included no AI search features at all, which its pricing page does not clearly support.
  3. 15 September 2026Corrected: each Ahrefs plan’s monthly checks cover its prompts on one platform daily, not on all seven at once. Its prompt database is now more than 475 million prompts.
  4. 15 September 2026Corrected: SE Ranking tracks five AI engines, including Google AI Mode. Earlier versions said four.
  5. 15 September 2026Corrected: Frase publishes AI visibility prompt allowances of 50, 200 and 500 by plan, with daily monitoring. Earlier versions said neither was published.
  6. 15 September 2026Corrected: Scrunch was described as having the broadest engine list at a self-serve price. AthenaHQ Starter includes more models for less.
  7. 15 September 2026Rebuilt verdict first: a short verdict with calculated figures, an engine-by-engine coverage grid and yearly cost charts, with full reviews, specs and method folded below. The intro was shortened; no facts were removed. Tools are now listed in the order our published scoring rules put them, and Ahrefs Brand Radar, SE Ranking and Peec AI were added.
  8. 12 September 2026Rebuilt as a full review from each vendor’s product pages, documentation and announcements, not only pricing pages, with pros and cons, recent changes, a method section and this log. Added a full review of every tool and a Surfer entry. Corrected: Profound Agents create content, and Otterly.AI offers a trial from its homepage.
  9. 11 September 2026Published.
