Veritas vs Otterly.AI

By Advik Jain, Co-founder & CEO · Updated 5 Oct 2026

Both tools run your buyers’ questions through AI engines and record whether your brand is mentioned or cited. Otterly.AI is built to monitor, cheaply and daily. Veritas checks less often and turns each gap into a draft cited to your own documents.

The verdict

If watching AI answers is the whole job, Otterly.AI is the better buy: cheaper, refreshed daily, with no seat limits. Veritas earns its higher price only if the same team will also write the pages that close the gaps.

Choose Veritas ifOurs

You want each gap turned into a draft cited to your own documents, with Gemini tracked without add-ons.

Choose Otterly.AI if

You only need monitoring, refreshed daily, for everyone on the team, or you need Microsoft Copilot tracked.

How to choose between Veritas and Otterly.AI

If the job is watching AI answers and nothing else, buy Otterly.AI. Lite costs $29 a month for 15 prompts, checks them every day, includes unlimited team members on every plan and tracks Microsoft Copilot, which Veritas does not. Its Standard and Premium plans add API and MCP access.

Otterly.AI stops at advice. It audits content for crawlability, writes briefs and makes GEO recommendations, but the pages that close a gap are written somewhere else. Veritas, which is our product, costs more per prompt because tracking is one part of a workspace that also writes those pages: each gap opens in the Veritas editor, where the draft is built from your documents and every knowledge-based claim is numbered back to its source.

So the choice turns on who writes the fix. A team that already has writers and a content tool it likes should add Otterly.AI to that stack. A team of up to three that wants tracking, cited drafting, keyword research and site audits on one bill is where the $78 Veritas Growth plan makes sense.

The engine lists differ at the edges. Otterly.AI’s base plans cover ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews and Copilot, and charge extra for Gemini, Claude and Google AI Mode. Veritas includes Gemini on every plan with the other three, but does not track Claude or AI Mode at any price.

Volume is where Veritas falls furthest behind. Otterly.AI scales to 400 prompts on its Premium plan, with a custom-priced Enterprise plan starting from 1,000 search prompts beyond that, while Veritas stops at 25 prompts on Business. A brand that needs to watch hundreds of questions has one realistic option on this page.

What each tool does today, on the plans named in each row. Not described means the vendor’s pages do not mention it, which is not the same as the product lacking it.

Otterly.AI leads on monitoring, with daily checks, Copilot, unlimited users and API access; Veritas leads on what comes after, with cited drafts, keyword research, backlinks and Gemini without an add-on.

  • Content audit with crawlability checks. Veritas grades one crawl for Google and for AI crawlers. Otterly.AI pairs its audit with content briefs.
  • Drafts articles cited to your own documents. Otterly.AI describes briefs and GEO recommendations rather than full drafts.
  • Starting price for AI tracking. The cheapest published plan that tracks AI answers: Starter for Veritas, Lite for Otterly.AI.
  • Free trial. Otterly.AI offers a trial from its homepage without stating its length on the pricing page.
  • Published security posture. Otterly.AI’s SOC 2 and ISO 27001 references apply to its data centres, not to Otterly.AI itself.

Writing the pages that close these gaps too?

Track four AI engines, then draft each fix from your own documents with every knowledge-based claim cited to its source. Try it on one domain first.

AI answer tracking

Otterly.AI refreshes daily on every plan, and Veritas fortnightly, plus on-demand checks between runs. Both track four engines on the entry tracking plan, but not the same four: Otterly.AI has Copilot where Veritas has Gemini, and Otterly.AI sells Gemini, Claude and AI Mode as paid add-ons.

On the cost chart Otterly.AI is cheaper at the one size both can serve and is the only one priced for the rest. One user with 10 prompts pays $348 a year against $936 on Veritas; 50 prompts, or a team of five on 100, costs $2,268 on Standard; and an agency tracking 300 prompts for three brands pays $5,868 on the Premium plan. Veritas has no self-serve plan above 25 prompts.

The plan, seats and add-ons behind every figure are worked through on each tool’s review: Otterly.AI and Veritas.

What would change our verdict

  • Otterly moving past briefs into drafting, which is the whole basis of the execution difference here.
  • Otterly obtaining SOC 2 or ISO 27001 in its own name rather than through the data centres it runs on.
  • Veritas adding a daily refresh, which is where Otterly is clearly ahead at a much lower entry price.

Questions people ask

Is Otterly.AI or Veritas better for tracking alone?

If tracking is the only job, Otterly.AI: it refreshes daily, includes unlimited team members and starts at $29 a month on prices read 11 September 2026. Veritas re-checks every two weeks and is priced as a content and SEO platform, so it earns its place when the same team also writes the pages that close the gaps.

Does Veritas track Microsoft Copilot or Google AI Mode?

No. Veritas tracks ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. Otterly.AI tracks Copilot on every plan and sells AI Mode as an add-on.

Does Otterly.AI have a free trial?

Its homepage offers one. Its pricing page, as read 11 September 2026, does not list trial terms. An earlier version of this page said no trial was listed, which was wrong.

How we researched this page

Every fact about another tool comes from that vendor’s own pages, or from a press report where we say so, listed under Sources with the date we read them. Where a vendor does not describe something, we say so rather than guess.

The scores and cost figures on this page are calculated, not assigned. Our full methodology sets out every rule, what each criterion is worth, and where our evidence runs out.

Disclosure. Veritas is our product. It appears on this page because it competes in this category, and we have tried to state its limits as plainly as anyone else’s. If anything here is wrong or out of date, write to support@getveritas.io and we will correct it and note the change in the log.

Update log

  1. 5 October 2026Updated: Veritas Starter now includes AI visibility, tracking 5 prompts across the same four engines, so AI visibility is on every Veritas plan. Earlier versions said it started on Growth.
  2. 29 September 2026Rewritten in long form: a how-to-choose guide and an AI tracking summary replace the side-by-side section, and several statements were corrected against the reviews.
  3. 25 September 2026Veritas pricing updated: Starter added at the entry, and the plans above it renamed Growth and Business and repriced. Marketing Suite was retired on 25 September 2026; its LinkedIn and scheduled publishing moved into Business, and its Local SEO into Growth and Business. Competitor figures were not re-checked.
  4. 22 September 2026Updated: Veritas no longer tracks Claude, so it tracks four AI engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. Its engine count, coverage and score changed to match, which can move its place in a ranked list.
  5. 15 September 2026Rebuilt verdict first: a short verdict with calculated figures, an engine-by-engine coverage grid and yearly cost charts, with full reviews, specs and method folded below. The intro was shortened; no facts were removed.
  6. 12 September 2026Rebuilt as a full review from each vendor’s product pages, documentation and announcements, not only pricing pages, with pros and cons, recent changes, a method section and this log. Corrected: Otterly.AI offers a free trial from its homepage and includes content audits and briefs.
  7. 11 September 2026Published.
