Veritas vs Writesonic

By Advik Jain, Co-founder & CEO · Updated 5 Oct 2026

Writesonic has become a GEO platform that ranks fixes, rewrites pages and drafts outreach. Veritas tracks AI answers too, but is built around drafting from your own documents with citations and a full SEO toolkit.

The verdict

Writesonic does more after it finds a gap: it ranks fixes, rewrites pages and drafts outreach. Veritas covers more engines and more people at self-serve prices, and drafts from your own documents with citations.

Choose Veritas ifOurs

You need Perplexity tracked, more than three users, and drafts cited to your documents.

Choose Writesonic if

You want prioritised GEO fixes, page rewrites and citation outreach handled inside one tool.

How to choose between Veritas and Writesonic

Writesonic earns its keep after the tracking has found a problem. Its Action Center ranks every opportunity by likely visibility and citation impact, an agent reworks existing pages for AI answers by adding FAQ blocks and comparison tables, and it finds the listicles, Reddit threads and YouTube videos that cite competitors, then drafts the outreach.

Choose Writesonic if winning citations on other people’s sites is part of the plan. Veritas monitors brand mentions from Business but does no outreach, and it has no API or MCP server where Writesonic has both. Writesonic also publishes SOC 2, GDPR and HIPAA credentials, while Veritas publishes no security posture.

Veritas, our product, is the better fit on engine coverage and headcount. Growth tracks Perplexity alongside ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews and includes three users. Writesonic’s self-serve plans leave Perplexity out, adding it and Claude only on Enterprise, and they allow one, two or three users with no more than two projects. Each Veritas plan, for comparison, covers one SEO site.

The writing differs as well. Writesonic reworks pages you already have. Veritas drafts new ones from your documents, with each knowledge-based claim carrying a numbered source, and adds keyword research, backlinks and a site audit for Google and AI crawlers; Writesonic’s audit works from AI bot visits, and it does not describe keyword or backlink tools.

On the entry price for AI tracking, Veritas Starter is $16 a month for 5 prompts, and Growth $78 for 10, against $99 for Writesonic Starter month to month, or $79 billed yearly. The deciding split is whether you need a ranked fix list and outreach, which points to Writesonic, or cited drafts and more people on one plan, which points to Veritas.

What each tool does today, on the plans named in each row. Not described means the vendor’s pages do not mention it, which is not the same as the product lacking it.

Writesonic leads on work beyond your own site, with a ranked fix list, page rewrites and citation outreach; Veritas leads on Perplexity at a self-serve price, included users and classic SEO.

  • Prioritised list of what to fix. Writesonic’s Action Center ranks every opportunity by visibility and citation impact. Veritas shows where you are absent and opens each gap in the editor.
  • Drafts cited to your own documents. Writesonic’s agent rewrites pages with FAQ blocks and comparison tables; its homepage does not describe citations to your own documents.
  • Citation outreach. Writesonic surfaces the Reddit threads, YouTube videos and listicles citing competitors and drafts the outreach.
  • Starting price for AI tracking. The cheapest published plan that tracks AI answers: Starter for Veritas, Starter for Writesonic.
  • Team members. Veritas: Growth or Business. Writesonic: one user on Starter, two on Basic, three on Growth.

Tracking Perplexity without an enterprise contract?

Veritas tracks four AI engines on every plan, with users included, and drafts each fix from your own documents with citations. Try it on one domain.

AI answer tracking

Writesonic tracks AI answers from Starter at $99 a month, or $79 billed yearly, and Veritas from Starter at $16 a month. Writesonic’s self-serve plans cover ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, with ten platforms on Enterprise, while Veritas covers those three engines plus Perplexity on its first tracking plan.

Writesonic publishes neither a prompt allowance per plan nor a refresh rate, so its plans cannot be placed on the yearly cost chart. Veritas re-checks 5 prompts on Starter, 10 on Growth or 25 on Business every two weeks, which puts one user tracking 10 at $936 a year. Seats shape the bill too: three people on Writesonic means the Growth plan, at $499 a month or $399 billed yearly, where Veritas Growth already includes three.

  2. 2The vendor does not publish how many prompts each plan tracks, so we cannot say which plan meets this setup.

Bars share one scale across the whole table, so cost growth shows as well as rank. A figure far above the rest is marked off scale.

The plan, seats and add-ons behind every figure are worked through on each tool’s review: Writesonic and Veritas.

What would change our verdict

  • Writesonic publishing prompt allowances and a refresh cadence for its self-serve plans.
  • Perplexity tracking moving off the enterprise tier, which is the main coverage gap on its published plans.
  • Veritas adding citation outreach, which is the part of the work Writesonic does and we do not.

How we researched this page

Every fact about another tool comes from that vendor’s own pages, or from a press report where we say so, listed under Sources with the date we read them. Where a vendor does not describe something, we say so rather than guess.

The scores and cost figures on this page are calculated, not assigned. Our full methodology sets out every rule, what each criterion is worth, and where our evidence runs out.

Disclosure. Veritas is our product. It appears on this page because it competes in this category, and we have tried to state its limits as plainly as anyone else’s. If anything here is wrong or out of date, write to support@getveritas.io and we will correct it and note the change in the log.

Update log

  1. 5 October 2026Updated: Veritas Starter now includes AI visibility, tracking 5 prompts across the same four engines, so AI visibility is on every Veritas plan. Earlier versions said it started on Growth.
  2. 29 September 2026Rewritten in long form: a how-to-choose guide and an AI tracking summary replace the side-by-side section, and several statements were corrected against the reviews.
  3. 25 September 2026Veritas pricing updated: Starter added at the entry, and the plans above it renamed Growth and Business and repriced. Marketing Suite was retired on 25 September 2026; its LinkedIn and scheduled publishing moved into Business, and its Local SEO into Growth and Business. Competitor figures were not re-checked.
  4. 22 September 2026Updated: Veritas no longer tracks Claude, so it tracks four AI engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. Its engine count, coverage and score changed to match, which can move its place in a ranked list.
  5. 15 September 2026Rebuilt verdict first: a short verdict with calculated figures, an engine-by-engine coverage grid and yearly cost charts, with full reviews, specs and method folded below. The intro was shortened; no facts were removed.
  6. 12 September 2026Rebuilt as a full review from each vendor’s product pages, documentation and announcements, not only pricing pages, with pros and cons, recent changes, a method section and this log. Corrected: Writesonic includes a technical SEO audit, citation outreach, an API and MCP; the earlier version marked audits as not listed.
  7. 11 September 2026Published.
